Friday saw the culmination of everyone’s hard work with the second Insurance Marketing & PR Awards (IMPRA 2016) taking place at the Banking Hall on Cornhill. As is the case with Incisive events, the organisation and logistics on the day were excellent. A Conference in the morning was a new addition this year and as might be expected, had an interesting array of speakers, including the much-publicised PechaKucha presentations. One of which was made by our very own Mark Huxley, his being around creating effective communication. To say the rigour of delivering his 20 slides, self-running for 20 seconds stressed Mark would be a massive understatement! Obviously, much to our amusement in the lead up to the day, but come the hour… well 6 minutes, 40 seconds, we’re delighted to say the stress was all worth it and his presentation seemed to go down a storm.
The Awards lunch then followed and it was clear that compared to last year, it had really grown in scale, with a big increase in numbers attending. The standard of award entries likewise showed the worth placed upon winning an IMPRA. Jonathan Swift did a great job comparing the awards and kept the flow going through the 14 categories, culminating in the Achievement Award, sponsored by us and deservedly won by Peter Markey of Aviva. Congratulations Peter.
Formalities over, it was time to do what our industry does best - networking over a cold drink or two or three. (How many of you weren't feeling twice as fresh the morning after!)
